The history of cRaZy fOoTbAll tHuRzZdAy stems back to 1986. The league was formed by our core players who are still active members today. It was played at Eviction Stadium every friday night starting at 10:00pm. It was not uncommon to have the games last until 2:30-3:00am. After the game, some would go home, others would go to Duncan Donuts, others would attend a late night bible study. | ![]() |

There are many memorable moments associated with the Eviction Stadium days. For example, Larry's concussion in a collision with Snyder where he was out cold before he hit the pavement... or the time cousin Jim dove into the gutter (for the TD catch), and who can forget Jim Moore's arm? He could throw the ball 1 city block and into the playground beyond! There were quite a few arguments about receptions on the west side of the street at Eviction! This led Kevin to visit KMart and purchase a can of white spray paint to end all the disputes. The can cost a total of $.86 with tax. One can visit the stadium today and still see traces of that crOOked sideline! That was some quality paint! After many squabbles with the Police and the Town of EG for not fixing the north end-zone street light, every member of the board voted in favor of moving the league. In 1992, Uncle Robby Stadium was founded. This was a much better field of play. Already painted parking lines, a quality lighting system, and a flat blacktop field made this quite an improvement in our quality of game. The only problem... there were always a few stragglers that left cars parked for the weekend. We quickly found a solution to this... pick up the cars and move them! This may have been disturbing to the car owners (when they showed up monday to pick up their car which was now sideways in the middle of the isle), but that's just too dang bad for them! What do they think this is, a Park and Ride? Some memorable moments at Uncle Robby include the time Greg busted out a car window cuz he was sure he could pry it open to put the car into Neutral to roll it out of the way... or how about Kevin's collision with the hefty street light pole while chasing Jamie D. on an interception run. On the rear of his right leg, one can still pluck hairs out with no feeling to him at all. Or who can forget those games in the blizzards with over 18" of snow on the ground! Sometimes we would call a special week and play down in RenTler at the old school parking lot. We never named the place but I do believe we spent 1/2 a season there. It was a bigger field, a little dangerous as there was gravel to slip on, grass growing thru the pavement, and broken glass laying all around. After a few years on the pavement, shin-splints set in and affected us all! Something had to be done. In 1996 we voted to move the league again to cRaZy fiElD. Here we have found a home and have officially named the night "cRaZy fOoTbAll tHuRzZdAy." Neither hurricanes, nor thunderstorms, nor bliZZards, nor 100 degree days have stopped us in our quest. The game will go on! And how could it not, with players in the line-up such as "Big Mamma Wilkinson," and "Sticky Gloves Snyder." |
